We will do what is right and always know that when our clients succeed in their goals, we succeed too. We will treat your loved ones with respect, dignity, and continue to strive for excellence through continuous education.

Hello, I am Ted Dzvileski, owner and operator of your local Griswold Home Care office of Somerset County, NJ. I joined the Griswold Home Care franchise family in 2002 because I saw an increased need for private care services both nationwide and in my community. As our nation’s elderly population continues to grow, and families are busier than ever, more people are in need of extra support as they age.
It was Paul and Lori Hogan's own personal experience caring for their 100-year-old grandmother in her home that inspired them to launch Home Instead Senior Care in 1994. They realized many families had the same need for in-home care and elder companionship that could help seniors live independently at home. The demand for these important services has been so great, that the company's network now has 800 locally owned franchises across North America and around the globe.
When family members or friends aren't able to help the older adults they love, Home Instead CAREGiversSM can. With a network of locations across New Jersey, and worldwide, Home Instead Senior Care is all about taking care of older family members long-term in the homes they've enjoyed and treasured. We provide a range of services including companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, shopping, errands—everything you'd do for your loved one, and more—to give you peace of mind, whether you live several states away or in the next county.
I grew my business to function in the same high caliber fashion that I first observed and admired in Griswold Home Care. I work hard to support my community as both a home care provider and an expert in the elder care industry. I am active in my church and serve as a knowledgeable resource to various church volunteer programs and township social service programs.
No matter who you choose to help you with in-home care the goals are usually the same: to stay independent and in your home for as long as possible. While assisted living communities offer more ready access to support and social companionship, some seniors are not ready for that transition. They may be concerned about the cost of assisted living, or don’t need the ready stimulation of organized social programs, or they may only need minor or temporary assistance to deal with smaller matters of mobility, non-medical support, or companionship.

Nationwide in 2016, the average cost for non-medical home care is $20 per hour with the state averages ranging from $15 – $26 per hour. It should be noted that these are average costs from home care agencies. Private individuals can be retained to provide most of the same services with fees that are 20% – 30% lower. However, these independents are typically uninsured, do not go through background checks and may be unable to provide alternatives in case they are not available to work on short notice.
Determining the best elder care option for yourself or your aging loved one largely depends on medical and emotional needs, lifestyle preferences, location preferences and available resources to cover cost of care.If you are considering elder care options in New Jersey or if you are considering becoming a primary caregiver, take some time to consider the best option for both yourself and your loved one.
Once we know the type of care a senior will require, we then discuss other factors that will play a role in the selection of the ideal community. After all, we know that care and assistance is necessary to keep seniors safe, but that finding the placement that will best suit their location, lifestyle, and social needs is key to ensuring their comfort and enjoyment of life.
Focusing on the solid foundation of Griswold Home Care founder Jean Griswold’s vision, providing the best home caregivers to seniors and families at affordable rates, the office has grown to one of the company’s top performers. In 2001, our operations manager, Kathy Mason, came on board. Her compassion, empathy and love of the senior care community played a key role in the overall success of the office.

When the war ended, Mom moved to New Hanover, where she worked at Fort Dix and finally agreed to a dinner date with a handsome airman on base—Dad. They bought a stylish rancher in the suburbs. Of course Dad thought she should stay home, cook and clean, but he didn't know the force he was reckoning with. She fought to keep her career, continuing to work part time, even after we girls came into the picture.
