The Griswold Home Care service model varies depending on which state the office is in. In some states, our service is solely to refer thoroughly screened professional caregivers. In other states, we employ and supervise the caregivers. In every state, we’re 100% focused on quality services and responsiveness to your needs. For each office, you’ll see its service model and learn how we can best help you and your family with your home care needs.
At United Methodist Communities HomeWorks, we understand the challenges you face taking care of a loved one. You want to provide the full support they need while respecting their independence and personal dignity. You want to be there for them, but the demands of work, family and everyday life just don’t allow you to be present in the capacity your loved one deserves.

"Overall they've been good with me. Rona in the office calls me when the caregiver has some personal errands and needs to take off. They would always ask me if I want a replacement in or not. Their invoicing if fine. They got back to me when I reached out to them a few times. There's been no real issues. We had a couple of times where my uncle was very stubborn and they've tried new people. They've been really understanding in finding the right person. It's been a very good experience with them and my uncle seems very happy."

Medicare is a type of health insurance for senior citizens over the age of 65 who have worked (or whose spouses have worked) for more than 10 years. There are two types of Medicare. Medicare A is available at no cost and covers things like home health care, nursing home care, inpatient hospital care, and hospice. Medicare B is available for a premium (which depends on your income) and covers preventative care, medically necessary care, mental health services, ambulance services, and durable medical equipment. There is also Medicare D, which covers prescriptions.
My name is Stephan Rymal and I have been the Director of the Burlington County Office of Griswold Home Care since 1997. My Burlington County roots date back to my youth, when I visited my uncles’ farms on Route 70 past Olga’s Diner and the Route 73 circle. I still remember swimming in the cedar ponds in the summer and ice skating on them in the winter. My cousins and I would walk through the fields eating fresh Jersey tomatoes with their sweet juices dripping down our faces during the day and steam Jersey corn in their husks on the grill for dinner.
In 2018, home care costs in New Jersey are on par with the national average, which is approximately $21.75 / hr. This holds true for the area of Atlantic City. Less expensive home care can be found in the capital city, Trenton, Vineland-Millville-Bridgeton, and in Ocean City, where the cost is closer to $19.75 - $20.75 / hr. As with assisted living, the North Jersey area sees the highest hourly cost at approximately $22.50 / hr. For individuals who need more intensive care than a home care worker provides, the option of home health care is also available. On average, this type of caregiving costs approximately $1.75 / hour more than home care. One exception is in Vineland-Millville-Bridgeton, where the cost is approximately $19.75 / hour.

With help from the United Methodist Communities foundation, the United Methodist Communities throughout New Jersey provide the kind of compassionate care, safety and security you may be looking for. Long-term care insurance is only really helpful if benefits are properly allocated. Our LTCi Resource Center staff coordinate and oversee customized care plans to help clients take full advantage of their benefits and options. We can also monitor LTCi payments or even bill carriers directly for our clients, so all they need to focus on is spending quality time with the ones they love.
New Jersey also has plenty of assisted living facilities throughout the state to provide seniors with more assistance with their day to day tasks. Residents receive personal care and health services for an average monthly cost of $5,811. Keep in mind that assisted living is not an alternative to nursing home care, but rather, an intermediate level of long-term care.
Amada Senior Care Northern New Jersey operator  Gerri Dasappan is uniquely qualified to provide the highest quality of senior care, as she is both a registered nurse and someone who has personally benefited from in-home care. When Gerri’s father was in the final days of his fight with cancer, the support and assistance provided by caregivers in their home allowed her family simply to focus on spending time with him. She says, “Having the right home-care people come in and help my mother with my dad was a big help for all of us. It gave us peace of mind. And this is the kind of care that I want to provide for all of our clients.”
We at the United Methodist Communities understand that being a senior does not have to mean losing your independence. Often times loved ones have work and family commitments and we don’t want to burden them by constantly asking for help. Our United Methodist Communities HomeWorks in home senior care program empowers you by allowing you to take care of yourself affordably while still maintaining your freedom and independence.

To qualify for NJ Long Term Care Medicaid, an applicant's functional ability, monthly income, and countable resources are considered. A single individual, as of 2018, can have up to $2,250 / month in income. Income in excess can be allocated to a Qualifying Income Trust (QIT). This is a way to effectively lower countable income, helping one to become income eligible for long-term care Medicaid.

2.) SRCP, the Statewide Respite Care Program, offers reduced rate or free respite care to help individuals caring for a loved one gain relief from their duties. Respite care is provided in-home or out-of-home. Other services also covered by this program include private duty nursing and homemaker services. Our team at Amada Senior Care Northern New Jersey are experts in helping clients take advantage of programs and services that make the costs of care more manageable. One program our clients have found to be especially useful is the VA Aid and Attendance benefit, which provides monthly financial support to wartime veterans or surviving spouses who require help with activities of daily living. To learn more about veterans’ benefits for senior care, please Click here for a Free Veteran’s Care Needs Consultation.

Veterans’ memorial homes are located in different areas of the state. They are for honorably discharged veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star Parents. Residents pay based on their ability to do so, and preference is given to people who have lived in New Jersey for two years prior to admission. These veterans’ homes provide nursing home and medical care to veterans who need it.

As we say in the Camden County office, home care has never been easier than with Griswold Home Care. However, our job wasn’t easy! Using tools such as the “CareAssure Screening System” and “QuickCare Placement” we were able to get the best caregivers to our clients even on short notice. We understood the stress and fears our clients faced when they were told they needed someone to help out with senior care or they couldn’t remain in their home.
