When the war ended, Mom moved to New Hanover, where she worked at Fort Dix and finally agreed to a dinner date with a handsome airman on base—Dad. They bought a stylish rancher in the suburbs. Of course Dad thought she should stay home, cook and clean, but he didn't know the force he was reckoning with. She fought to keep her career, continuing to work part time, even after we girls came into the picture.
State funding, both from the general fund and the Casino Revenue Fund, supports programs and services specific to New Jersey or expands service availability and reach beyond federal funding limits. These include Jersey Assistance for Community Caregiving, Congregate Housing Services Program (CHSP), Statewide Respite Care Program, Alzheimer’s Adult Day Services Program, weekend home delivered meals, the Lifeline Utility Assistance program, Hearing Aid Assistance to the Aged and Disabled, and two state prescription assistance programs:  Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled and the Senior Gold Prescription Discount Program.

HomeWell makes it easy for you to personalize your mom and dad’s essential services to meet their unique needs and preferences. Pick and choose from a broad range of services, such as a daily wellness check - verifying that medications are taken, and observing and reporting changes in health. Our personal care managers can also help with various chores around the house, such as changing bed linens, laying out clothes, and unpacking groceries. These short, helpful visits can make a significant impact on the health and well-being of your parents.

No matter who you choose to help you with in-home care the goals are usually the same: to stay independent and in your home for as long as possible. While assisted living communities offer more ready access to support and social companionship, some seniors are not ready for that transition. They may be concerned about the cost of assisted living, or don’t need the ready stimulation of organized social programs, or they may only need minor or temporary assistance to deal with smaller matters of mobility, non-medical support, or companionship.
I grew my business to function in the same high caliber fashion that I first observed and admired in Griswold Home Care. I work hard to support my community as both a home care provider and an expert in the elder care industry. I am active in my church and serve as a knowledgeable resource to various church volunteer programs and township social service programs.

Long-term care insurance is only really helpful if benefits are properly allocated. Our LTCi Resource Center staff coordinate and oversee customized care plans to help clients take full advantage of their benefits and options. We can also monitor LTCi payments or even bill carriers directly for our clients, so all they need to focus on is spending quality time with the ones they love.

It was Paul and Lori Hogan's own personal experience caring for their 100-year-old grandmother in her home that inspired them to launch Home Instead Senior Care in 1994. They realized many families had the same need for in-home care and elder companionship that could help seniors live independently at home. The demand for these important services has been so great, that the company's network now has 800 locally owned franchises across North America and around the globe.
