Assisted-living residences at United Methodist Communities have apartments that residents can make their own, along with a common dining room where meals are served, a nurse’s office where prescription drugs are professionally dispensed and activity rooms for socializing. The great advantage of United Methodist Communities assisted living is that you can ramp up the level of care as the resident needs it, adding services like help with dressing and bathing, or medication reminders. At our assisted living facilities, you only pay for the care that you receive. This philosophy can save families literally tens of thousands of dollars every year.
Individuals enrolled in Medicaid’s Personal Preference Program (PPP) are able to self-direct their own care. This is a “Cash and Counseling” program in which the recipients are provided with a cash allowance and the flexibility to spend it as they see fit for their care requirements. Common ways funds are spent are for personal care assistance, assistive technology, and home modifications. It should be noted that a fair amount of counseling is also provided to ensure needs are being met. With this option, individuals are able to hire the care provider of their choosing, including family members.

The Griswold Home Care service model varies depending on which state the office is in. In some states, our service is solely to refer thoroughly screened professional caregivers. In other states, we employ and supervise the caregivers. In every state, we’re 100% focused on quality services and responsiveness to your needs. For each office, you’ll see its service model and learn how we can best help you and your family with your home care needs.

They sent us a truly excellent caregiver whom we now regard as a family member. I have complete trust in our caregiver. She provides a LOT more than just "care". She provides companionship, attention, friendship and I know she genuinely cares. That's all I could ever ask for. And the Service itself has provided excellent support and has accommodated on many important matters. They truly "care" as well. Trust me, this sort caring is what you want to look for when seeking a care provider.

When challenges arise such as the onset of dementia, our fully-trained, experienced staff help to, not only recognize the early stages and signs of dementia, but also to help assist in this difficult time through a compassionate support system and professional senior home health care services. Our staff can help develop day-to-day dementia care routines, which include keeping structure and familiarity. A great value for a dementia patient is remaining within familiar surroundings as long as possible to eliminate distress. United Methodist Communities HomeWorks elderly care services allow families time to consider their options including transitioning to assisted living.
Finding the right assisted living facility for your elderly loved one is never easy. You want to be sure you find just the right fit—a place where your parent or relative will be comfortable, happy, and able to thrive. With so many options, it can be hard to know where to start. If you are looking for advice on senior care services, start with Adult Care Advisors.
Our concept is simple yet effective - we match seniors who need help with active seniors who want to help. As we age, there are many challenges that can make it difficult to live at home safely, maintain a healthy, active lifestyle and continue to participate in the activities we enjoy. Family members often provide a tremendous amount of support to their aging loved ones, but it is important for them to be able to take time to relax and recharge as well. Accepting help is easier when the companion or caregiver is a peer who can relate on a personal level, someone who understands the desire to remain at home and independent.
Even if your elderly loved one insists on remaining at home, doing so may not be in their best interests. A parent or elderly loved one in failing or deteriorating health is not the only one in jeopardy; family members managing care may also be under a lot of stress and typically find out they’ve bitten off more than they can chew when it comes to taking care of a relative while trying to have and maintain their own life.
Each family is able to completely customize their own BeClose system, choosing from a range of state-of-the-art products and devices and paying for nothing that is unnecessary. Some of the most popular BeClose products include medication monitors to let families know if a dose was missed, indoor and outdoor security cameras, automated door locks and thermostats, and even alerts to instantly notify families and nearby assistants of falls, intruders, or other potential emergencies. BeClose also compiles records of behavior and activity patterns, and can let families know when changes in routine may signal a need for more hands-on care. Families and Amada caregivers are able to receive real-time updates and frequent reports directly on their mobile phones through the revolutionary BeClose mobile app, so they can remain confident that their loved one is safe and thriving—whether they are across the street or across the globe.
