At Griswold Home Care of Cumberland County, we knew that there was a huge under-served senior population in the local community. It has been our mission to meet the elder care demands so that seniors could continue to remain where they are most content, surrounded by cherished memories that they’ve made at home. Our team feels a huge sense of fulfillment when we are able to help a neighbor, friend or friend of a friend establish the care that they desperately need in the place that they are most comfortable.
I am a senior caregiver with vast years of experience looking after the elderly. I am CNA and HHA trained and a college grad. I have experience in dementia, Alzheimer`s, Parkinson's, Stroke, Hospice and old aged clients. I have also worked in hospitals Assisted Living facilities, nursing homes, Senior Homes and private homes. I have a lot of compassion with the elderly hence my ability to provide quality care for them. I also have a strong belief that the last years in someones life should be happiness and to be loved.
When considering a senior living community, it is important that our clients and their loved ones honestly assess the level of care they will require. For individuals who anticipate the need for complex medical services, a nursing home may be the best place to help them stay safe and comfortable. However, some of our senior clients just want to simplify their lives and receive assistance with some basic activities of daily living, and for such individuals an assisted living community may be a better fit.
For a long time, this escape to the shore was a tradition in our family. That is, until my wife's father had a mild heart attack a couple years back. After that, he started moving slower; needed more rest. Soon, trips to the shore were too hard on him. It was difficult for everyone to watch this decline, and all we wanted was to be able to help him. Unfortunately, he required the sort of attention that neither I nor my wife could offer; so it was time to consider options.
